I genuinely love what I do and look forward to working with my clients each day. I bring passion, intrigue, curiosity, and an ongoing desire to learn and understand my clients and the stories they share with me.
I am highly motivated to help people gain better awareness and appreciation of themselves and the issues that are brought to therapy. I carry hope for my clients that they reach a new place of understanding and insight that allows them to put parts of their story to rest while also experiencing an alleviation of raw pain and emotional distress. With that said, my work is focused on highly motivated individuals who strive for accomplishment in many aspects of their lives to reach an overall sense of well-being.
I feel honored when my clients share the intricacies of their life stories and work very hard to help facilitate change in their lives in a meaningful way reflected by the kinds of questions and feedback I offer my clients.
I have been in the field of mental health since the mid 1990’s. I believe that my formal education speaks to my desire to constantly learn in efforts to gain more tools and knowledge to help people work through very important issues in their lives. First, I received a Masters in Social Work from Washington University George Warren Brown School of Social Work in St. Louis, Missouri and then a PhD from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology located in Santa Barbara County.
In combination, the two compliment each other well. I strive to consider and appreciate the environment a person comes from while attempting to build a connection with my client. As people decide to come to work with me and begin to develop trust and a sense of safety, I patiently and gracefully wait for the opportunity to go deeper inside of the issues presented. As we explore deeper together, I attempt to help my clients reach the source of their emotional and psychological struggle(s).
